The consular patent of the Honorary Consul of Greece in Kherson was received yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine by businessman and philanthropist Mr. Pantelis Boumpouras. The document was signed on November 25, 2021 by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and was handed over to Mr. Pantelis Boumpouras yesterday during a special ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kyiv. The area of responsibility of the Honorary Consul includes the entire Crimean peninsula, temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, as well as Kherson region. We remind you that many Ukrainian civil servants and foreign delegations have been temporarily relocated to Kherson due to their physical inability to perform their duties in Crimea. The Honorary Mission of Greece will be temporarily based there.
“I take up my duties with a sense of special joy and responsibility. I hope that my contribution will help to make life easier for Greeks living in Crimea and Kherson, as well as improve relations between Greece and Ukraine. The relations between these two countries are very deep and began many centuries ago from these territories,” said Pantelis Boumpouras on the occasion of taking office.
The ceremony was also attended by Ambassador of Greece to Ukraine Vasilis Bornovas.
